KYD Studios was built from a story that's painfully common in the wellness space — and one we set out to make rarer.

PT. 01 / III Origin

The studio started because of my mom.

She built a cannabis brand from scratch — real product, real vision, real audience. She hired a brand agency to bring it to life. They took her money, delivered branding that didn't work, gave her no positioning, no strategy, no roadmap, no distribution plan, and walked away.

I rebuilt the whole thing from zero. Identity, positioning, packaging — all of it. Because the alternative was watching a good product die from someone else's bad work.

They took her money, handed her something unusable, and disappeared. I had to redo every piece of it from scratch.

I kept watching the same pattern play out — therapists, coaches, surgeons, founders. People doing genuinely transformative work, paying agencies to bring it to life, ending up with deliverables they couldn't use and no plan for what to do next.

KYD Studios is the agency I wish my mom had hired the first time.

We don't deliver assets. We install systems. We don't hand off and disappear. We stay through execution. And we don't take on brands we can't make a meaningful difference for — because we already lived through what happens when an agency takes on work they shouldn't.

Sam Bellisfield

Sam holds a master's in branding from the School of Visual Arts and apprenticed at Milton Glaser Studio. Over 15+ years she's built brand strategy and identity systems across consumer, tech, retail, and fashion — most recently founding the in-house brand strategy function at Equity Brands Group, where she drove a 30% year-over-year increase in portfolio revenue.

KYD Studios is the focused application of that work to a specific kind of business: serious brands and practices in the wellness space, doing genuinely transformative work, who deserve to be the obvious choice in their market.

No deliverable ships without the positioning that justifies it. We've watched too many brands die from beautiful work without a strategy underneath.

If we shaped the strategy, we own the outcome. Hand-off-and-disappear is the exact failure mode we exist to fix.

We only take on brands we can make a meaningful difference for. Saying no to misaligned work is how we stay good at the right work.
